9:00 AM –
Unit Description: While Paul was in prison, he continued to write to the church and shared how Christians never lose hope even in difficult situations because Jesus is returning for His people one day.
Aug 12: Bible Story: Jesus Will Return, Bible Passage: Revelation 21–22, Main Point: Jesus will come back and make all things new.
Aug 19: In this session’s study of Revelation, we will see that the purpose of our singing is not the only thing that matters, but also the content of what we sing. It is not enough that we sing; who we sing to and why we sing to Him is the most important thing. As we trace two songs of praise to God in Revelation 4–5, we will see that we sing to our God who is holy, powerful, eternal, and the One who created everything. We also sing to the Lamb who redeemed people by His blood and who reigns forever. Scripture: Revelation 4:2–5:14: The Point: God calls us to worship here on earth in anticipation of our worship of the Lamb in heaven.
Aug 26: As we close out this three-year journey through the Bible, we study Jesus’ return, when all things will be restored. What sin and rebellion broke in Eden, Jesus will put back together again—He will make all things new. Jesus will also separate all unbelievers from believers. Those who refused to trust in Christ will be judged, but those who have trusted in Him will live with God under His loving rule forever, according to God’s plan in creation.Scripture: Revelation 21:1-8; 22:1-5,8-15 – The Point: God calls us to live in light of His promise to make all things new.
As your child “graduates” from the toddler room to the preschool classes, the Children’s Ministry’s goal is to begin to build a firm spiritual foundation in your child. The Children’s Ministry at WHCC, teaches the truth of Scripture and who God is beginning in the 2 1/2 year old Sunday school class. Each service hour uses the Gospel Project Curriculum that focuses on the weekly scripture and Bible story, but the activities and teaching are different each hour to allow children to have two different lessons each Sunday, if you are a two service family. Music, snacks, and a playtime are also included during your child’s Sunday school class time.
Pre-School – What to expect?
At West Hills Community Church, your children will find a safe, fun, and loving environment to help them grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. All of our teachers have gone through finger printing and child safety procedures. We invite you to come as a family and grow together in your relationship with Christ. Your potty-trained 2.5 year old will enjoy Bible stories music, games, and activity based on the teaching of the story presented from the Pre-school curriculum. You will check your child in and out of their classroom using their signed tag. We usually serve Goldfish & water from paper cups. If serving something else, a note posted outside the classroom will be provided.
9:00 AM - Miss DorothyThis mother daughter team has been using their special gift to teach our WHCC pre-school children for years. Miss Dorothy’s favorite Bible verse is John 3.16 “For God gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” “In God we trust”!
9:00 AM - Miss DoriMiss Dori’s desire is to have children know and love God. In her words, “I want them to know God is with them wherever they go. That’s why I put God’s name in red on my story wall. I want them to recognize the word.” He favorite scripture is, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2).
